About the property

Cove sits on the eastern shore of Loch Long, a quiet village on the Rosneath Peninsula where the road runs out of things to connect to and the pace drops accordingly. 11A Mansion View is a single-storey lodge on the outskirts, elevated above the village with clear sightlines across the water to the Cowal hills. This is the only adults-only property on the site. No cots, no highchairs, no children's television in the background. It is built for two couples sharing a week or a pair of friends who want somewhere quiet with a view. The twin bedroom gives everyone their own space, and the open-plan living area, with its dining table set for four, is where the evenings take shape. The front decking is where the lodge makes its case. Loch Long sits directly ahead, with the hills rising steeply on the far shore, and on a clear morning the view runs further than you would expect from a modest timber lodge. Evenings are just as good, the light dropping behind the hills and the water turning still. Morning coffee out here sets the rhythm for everything that follows. Inside, the kitchen is well equipped for proper self-catering: gas hob, electric oven, good worktop space. The sitting area has an electric fire for cooler evenings and a Smart TV for the nights when the weather decides the plan. Everything is on one level, from front door to bedrooms, which keeps things simple. The double has its own basin and WC through an en-suite door, and a separate shower room serves the twin. Off-road parking for two cars means both couples can drive separately without the driveway becoming a puzzle. Helensburgh is ten minutes down the peninsula road, with a high street of independent restaurants, a proper waterfront promenade, and Mackintosh's Hill House, looked after by the National Trust for Scotland. Closer to the lodge, the Cove Country Store does good coffee and homemade treats, enough to cover a morning when nobody wants to go further than the decking. Loch Lomond Shores at Balloch is within easy reach for bigger days out. Two bedrooms, no children, Loch Long from the front step. That is the pitch, and it is enough.
